Recovery Mode

Happy Day after Daylight Savings Time! I don’t know about you, but I am one happy person that the sun is still shining until 7 pm! I am truly a gal who thrives in the sunlight!!

The longer days make me feel good and give me that extra time and motivation to continue my day. I find there’s less of a temptation to hibernate when we turn the clocks ahead.

I am still in recovery mode from my surgery on March 1, but I am feeling so much better! I knew my body was healthy and strong going into the procedure and the fast bounce-back is proof.

I am so grateful to have had my parents for being there for me during the recovery process. My dad was there for me when I woke up from surgery and helped me with all things those first few days, from getting me up and walking to giving me all of my favorite snacks and drinks (and dealing with my sometimes annoying requests!). My mom spent the last 5 days taking care of me—and most importantly—making me laugh. We had the best time together lounging at the pool, pampering ourselves with spa treatments, going for fabulous dinners, and drinking wine at sunset at Shutters, one of my favorite hotels in Santa Monica. It was also fun just going on drives along PCH, appreciating the beauty of the coast and listening to her favorites (The Eagles, Boston, and Rod Stewart!)

It is a great reminder of the power of LOVE to help us heal and thrive. Leaning on others for support and offering help to others is so powerful.
