New Year's resolutions, love them, hate them, maybe both?!


Some swear by them, while others cringe at the mere thought. Personally, I've always favored a different approach: goal setting. Goals are actionable, providing a tangible sense of accomplishment and purpose. Crafting goals is akin to sketching a roadmap for personal and professional life, offering direction, motivation, and a way to measure progress. Whether your aspirations are health-related, professional, or about personal growth, setting objectives is the cornerstone of success.


The SMART Approach


Enter SMART goals—an acronym that transforms vague intentions into concrete, achievable milestones. Let's delve into the SMART criteria, applicable to any facet of life:


Specific: Define your goals clearly and precisely. Instead of a broad objective like "improve immune health," narrow it down to "consume a nutrient-rich food and take supporting supplements daily for the next three months."


Measurable: Quantify your goals to track progress effectively. For instance, if your aim is to boost energy levels, set a measurable goal like "increase daily step count to 8-10 K steps.”


Achievable: While it's crucial to dream big, ensure your goals are realistic. An achievable goal could be "incorporate a daily meditation practice to enhance focus and reduce stress.” It doesn’t even have to be long. Start with 2-3 minutes.


Realistic: Align your goals with your overall objectives. Whether it's related to professional success, personal growth, or health and wellness, ensure that your goals contribute meaningfully to your journey.


Timely: Set deadlines to instill urgency and commitment. For example, "complete a 30-minute workout routine four times a week for the next two months."

On a personal note, I must admit that I have decided to make 2 NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS in addition to my SMART GOALS… however, they do lean more on the side of FUN. I vow to take more pics and videos of me and my boyfriend this year (I am so bad at doing this) AND I also vow to try as many breakfast burritos in Los Angeles as possible!!!
